Holidays - Japan

It has been a long while since I traveled overseas and I am beginning to miss those days when I actually had the chance to do so. Decide to start this post to share some of my trips overseas... First Entry: Japan

It was in March 2007 where I was been chosen by my company to go for a training program in Japan. A few selected candidates will be chosen from each country as my company was a Japanese MNC. The objective was to understand the cultures of Japan and how Japanese companies tend to operate.

I had a total of 5 or 6 colleagues with me for this training program. (Been quite some time, cannot quite remember)

We arrived at Narita Airport late night and had to purchase tickets for the coach which will ferry us to the nearest hotel near where we were supposed to put up for the next week.
Reason was taking taxis in Japan would virtually empty your pockets so fast you can hardly believe it. And since this trip was sponsored by the company, most cost effective way was to take the coach and then take a taxi from the drop-off hotel to our actual hotel.

The next few days were spent in our head office in Tokyo where we had lectures etc. Usual boring stuff and nothing to blog about.

The interesting part was when we went for field trip to Inawashiro Resort located in Yama District, Fukushima, Japan. Oh... forgot to mention that March was around the end of winter, so we were able to see snow.

Just a pic of the snow resort which I took from the coach.

When we arrived, there wasn't much snow covering the area. A view of the ski area from my hotel room.

Somehow, it began snowing so heavily that night and the next morning, the same ski area became like this.

Seeing this, I immediately got my camera and asked a new found friend from Shanghai along for picture taking.

See how big the wind is that morning! Wooohoooo! >_< We had the chance to take the ski cable up to the top of the ski area and this is the view from up there down the hotel which we are staying.

Here's a pic with one of the course instructor. See the sleigh I am holding? That's what we used to play and slide from the top.

After about 2 days at Inawashiro Resort, we returned to Tokyo head office and did our final presentation. Of course, I managed to take some more pics from the coach on our way back. Here goes...

Once I reached Tokyo head office, finished up with final presentation and wrapped up the trip in Japan with some shopping in Tokyo.

And that marks the end of my first overseas trip post.

Down With Suspected Dengue Fever

Oh damnnit!

Symptoms:
Fever
No appetite
Aching joints
Loads and loads of diarrhea
Cannot sleep well
"Suspected with dengue fever"
Or at least that's what the doctor told me

If it is then I'm gone-case liao
Second case of dengue fever for me
The first time was during my Secondary 4 period
Luckily the exams were already over
But suey suey it was the period where we still had to go to school
And do nothing but play games in the classroom
Or simply just slack time away

Exactly the same symptoms I am having now
And I actually had a temperature running at 41 degrees over
Phew... fried brain on its way man

I just pray that no rashes appear on my body
As dengue fever attacks the red blood cells in our body
Our body will feel super weak lor

WHY?
Cause red blood cells helps carry oxygen to every part of our body
Dengue fever virus = attacks and kills red blood cells
Less red blood cells = less oxygen for the body
Less oxygen for the body = less energy
Less energy = nua nua feeling all over

Doctor gave 2 days MC for me to rest at home
Spent my 1st day taking the medicine and sleeping it away
Gastric was acting up probably cause I did not have appetite

Today is the 2nd day of my torture
Aches were subsiding
But not the damn diarrhea
Seems like whatever food I had
Comes out the same
liquid state as it went in
Simply buey tahan all the time spent in the toilet

Just received an SMS from Mongmong
Asking me to eat my medicine
So touched
Mongmong I love you to bits and pieces

Sighz
Really too tired to continue typing
Sign off first
Next trip to toilet-land!

Rainy Day

The time was 3.20pm
An unexpected SMS found its way to my handphone
It was my cousin, Ah Hao
Asking where in the world I am

Finally, waiting for his SMS as he has been busy lately
Slogging thru' his work and just started his part-time studies
Immediately I knew the activity for the rest of the day
CYCLING!

Buahahaha
Time to go burn those fats

Agreed to wait at the coffee shop outside my house in 10 mins
As usual, he was late
Luckily there was a road works outside the coffee shop
And that kept me occupied while waiting for Ah Hao to arrive

Zoom zoom we sped off to East Coast Park
Weather was good
Breeze was strong
Perhaps too strong especially when it's against us

Spotted lots of cute dogs along the way
Not to forget quite a handful of 可爱妹妹's
Heh Heh
(^_^)
Mongmong if you are reading this, stay cool!

The ride finished around 6 in the evening
And we decided to take a break at Lagoon Food Centre
Since Ah Hao somehow started craving for sugar cane drink
Wonder why...

We made our way back to Marine Parade as it started drizzling
Decided to stop by the coffee shop below the old cinema
Seems like the drizzle was getting too heavy

It has been quite a while since I last "chilled out" at a coffee shop
All the late nights of work yadaa yadaa
But I feel the main reason was the lack of chill-out kakis

Can't imagine I've already moved into the neighborhood for so long
Yet I have not found neighbors my age to la kopi with
I tried joining the Wholivesnearyou.com forum hoping to find some new friends

In fact there was one particular outing which I intended to join
I gave the organizer my mobile number to contact on that day
Since I don't know any of them
Would be good if she could ring me once everyone arrived

I mean... it would be weird to go up to people you do not know and ask them "Hey, are you the people from Wholivesnearyou.com who are here for an outing?"
Super paiseh one lor

The funny thing is she did not give me her contact number
She probably thinks "I better don't anyhow give a guy my mobile number, later he try to be funny how?"
Could have given me other guy's contact if she felt that way
But NO NO
Nil reply in my Inbox regarding that

So in the end it turned out that I suey suey had do OT
And because I did not have the contact of the organizer
No chance to meet up with the group

Somehow from the posts of some from that group
I would say it was better not to have met up with them
Totally in their own I-do-whatever-F***-I-please mentality
Really dislike this type of people
The other half of the group were alright I would say
Anyway that was long time back

Ok ok... that being said
Back to the raining-and-we-are-chilling-out-at-the-coffee-shop scene
Freaking rain was pouring like dunno what
Nowhere to shift anymore
Since the coffee shop does not have those extend-able shelter
And there was a constant trail of rainwater from the roof
Pouring down near where we were sitting

What irritated me more was that some idiots were walking outside
With their nice BIG umbrellas
And deliberately walk through the "mini waterfall"
Resulting in the bloody rainwater splashing onto us

奶奶的!
If that was on purpose, you ought to be shot

And if that was unintentional, go knock your head against the wall
Rationale being:
You are already using the umbrella to shelter yourself
Might as well walk further out
Brainless people!!!

Anyway the pouring rain subsided to a drizzle
And Ah Hao suggested cycling back home
What the hell I said
Since we are already wet

Onwards to home and a hot shower
Chiong ah!
G
ot ready and hit the road once more
By the time I reached home
TOTALLY soaked in the skin

Okie not really that JIALAT
But at least the feeling of wet underwear simply makes me wanna complain

I think I better stop now
Super tired already and tomorrow still have to work
Sianz....

Birthday Prezzie!

LUNCH!
Mongmong (my gf) and I have been going to Kim Gary at Vivo City for HongKong style meals
Decided to try out another HongKong style cafe at Jurong Point
*Most people would have probably visited this cafe before*

Our first time trying 星茶餐厅 ever since it opened here

This place is very spacious which is ideal for me
Kim Gary is too cramp for me! Don't really like it
Orders were taken fast and food delivered promptly

First came the thick toasted bread with
peanut butter and condensed milk

Not quite as thick as Kim Gary's but I don't mind it at all
Since the proportion of the toast was alright and not too filling
till you cannot find space to store your other food

Weather was hot and desperately needed some cold drinks
Tadaaa! Came the MANGO POMELO!
Yummy-licious!
Rich in the mango with bits of pomelo for the additional
"burst-in-your-mouth" feel

WAHHHHHH definitely a knock-out!
(x_X)

Mongmong's Nissin noodles with luncheon meat and fried egg came next
I tried it and...... no comments

And finally my beef bisket curry noodles came
What I like best was the noodles
They are those traditional HongKong style Wan-ton noodles
Thin and springy *Boink boink*
And totally coated with thick curry gravy
Awesome taste I tell you
The beef chucks were cooked till tender
Not really melts-in-your-mouth feeling but somewhere there
Will try it again the next time if I am craving for beef

AFTER LUNCH
Mongmong couldn't find the prezzie I want since it's not sold at Jurong Point
Cannot imagine the whole complex doesn't even have it!!!
(o_O)

In the end she decided to buy for me something which I can use to relax myself
An acupuncture pen from Osim iPEN
Basically it consists of 2 mechanics
  1. Pen for the usual scribbling and stuff
  2. Vibrating tip on the other end to target acupuncture points on your body

After reading the instructions manual
It is said to actually improve our body's well-being by targeting various acupuncture points on our bodies
Does it really work? Let me try and find out

Thanks Mongmong for the wonderful iPEN
I will try to use it often
Somehow I feel the vibrating tip can be used for OTHER purposes
Well I guess I had better stop now

Must....
Use....
Vibrating....
Tip....

Start Of A New Blog

Finally decided to start another blog after like ages
Guess I really need something to do with all this free time I have
Gosh! What to say? What to blog about?

Anyway, going to go get my long belated birthday prezzie after like 3 months!
(>_<)

Something which I have always wanted for a very very long time
Just couldn't find the time or reason to buy it for myself
But since it's gonna be my prezzie, why not?!
(^_^)

It's nothing expensive or very 夸张
Just looking at it makes me feel relaxed and happy somehow
Wonder why

Shall post pic of my long awaited prezzie if I have the chance
