Lightings Done Up

Woohoo! My lights are up and it's time for a new post update!
Was actually complaining last week about the dinner table lights hanging from different lengths of wire cables and was really an eyesore.

Below pic will show you 2 out of 3 of the dinner table hanging lamps, not very nice because the wrappings are not removed yet. And here comes the very 1st problem, 1 of the 3 lamps has a missing inner glass core (works like a 1-way glass where it looks solid when the bulbs are turn off, and illuminates nicely when they are on). My interior designer told me that the electrician had informed earlier that THAT particular glass core was cracked when delivered and had to be changed.

Partial view of the dinner table lamps with the downlights at the doorway

Here is one with the dinner table lamps and downlights on, of course you can see the cove lights now (since it is switched on). Supposed to make the overall ambience more cosy.

And here is one without flash on. Looks definitely more appealing now. See how that very 1 lamp is brighter than the other 2? Yupz, THAT's the 1 with the cracked glass core.

x_x"

Lets move to the kitchen, the bottom cabinets and kitchen top are not up yet, since carpentery will begin only end of the month. Mongmong and I chose the lights cause it looks more modern rather that those traditional round plastic covered lights.

Lets just take a look at the below picture, doesn't something just stand (or rather stick) out funny? Yupz, the DAMN LONG casing of the bathroom light. Although the shape and style are the same as the kitchen lights, this 1 is extremely special, like as if it's "erected" or something.

Ya... probably because people bathe in this particular location.

-_-"

Next, we move on, out to the living room.
Sorry for the dark picture, the sunlight outside was a bit glaring and I had to take the pic without flash to highlight the next few pics.

Living Room lightings from a lower angle.

And then, PRESTO! There was light!

1 more without the flash, doesn't it look cosy?
And to think this is in the day, shall make a trip back here when darkness falls.

Low angled shot at the Living Room downlights with the flash.

The Study Room with light affixed.
Somehow, Mongmong and I have always felt this room is the nicest in terms of the color tone and the well-laid trucking of the air-con.

I think my earlier post did not bring out the Indigo Mist color chosen for this bedroom. I have deliberately took the pic without the flash to bring out a clearer picture of the Indigo Mist color.

Last but not least, Mongmong and my love nest, also taken without the flash to show the 2 colors we have chosen, Love and Sweetness, clearly.

Guess it's about time to make a trip over to our home again for a view of the lightings at night.
Ciaoz!

Painting Done

Yo Peeps!

Decided to pop back Mongmong and my place today to see the renovation progress. Found the front door grills already painted in Mahogany color and went in to see if the rest of the house is also painted.

Here you see the front entrance before any painting done.

This is it with the color Bisque.
Probably not able to see much of a difference because I took the shot with flash on.

Unpainted Doorway.

Oh just ignore the guy sitting near the window, he is just waiting for instructions from his employer where to head off next after painting our front door grills.

Another view of the whole Living Room & partial Doorway from the Study Room.

We stepped into the kitchen and found the kitchen base done up. In this picture you see Mongmong squatting down to measure the space allocated for our washing machine. Don't mind her un-glam posture.

Finished kitchen base.

Painted Study Room in Frosty Blue.

Painted Bedroom in Indigo Mist.

Finally the Master Bedroom.
We chose the color Love for the wall behind our bed and the rest of the walls to be covered in Sweetness.

So lovey dovey right?
>_<

We still found some uneven paint surfaces, probably because the paint coat was too thin. Could actually see a slight tint of the base white before the actual colors were painted on. Will be pointing that out to the interior designer.

That's about it for this post regarding Painting.
Next post would be about the Lightings.

Air Con Installation 2

Alright, got a call from the technician at approximately 1455 hours informing me that the installation will be finished in another half an hour.

We went over (from MongMong's parents' place) to our new house at 1525 hours, wondering if everything will be nicely done up. I was actually quite worried about how well they will patch up the holes with clay plaster. You know sometimes, you get a sloppy workmanship and the clay plaster starts cracking and then you have to do the touch up yourself.

By the time we reached downstairs, we could see 1 of the technicians on the air-con ledge doing the patching. We are very satisfied with his service and attitude. He actually recommended the re-positioning of the air-con after we informed him how we wanted it in the first place.

I welcome such feedback from him as he is more experienced than us when it comes to this. I really hate it when I am paying good money to interior design companies and the sales person just "Orh Orh Orh" to whatever we wanted. Sometimes, when MongMong and I spend too much time "arguing" about the color combination, I actually hope for some recommendations from the designer.

Okie, back to my air-con installation.

Once we entered the house and walked towards the bedrooms, I could feel the cool breeze from the air-con blowing out into the living room.

"WOW!" was my immediate thought. That's strong!

Probably because Daiya is from Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (finally found the company name). Perhaps I am wrong, but just the 2 words "Heavy Industries" makes me feel as if that Daiyas air-con units are meant to perform extremely well to cool down all areas.

Below are some pics after the trunking had been laid in Bedroom 2.

More shots of the air-con units in the various bedrooms.

Bedroom 2

Master Bedroom

Last but not least, my favorite, the Study Room (also will be used as a bedroom in future). The trunking is the shortest and very nicely hidden compared to the other rooms. Just love the simple neat look.

Well, that wraps up the air-con installation. Managed to strike out 1 more item on our To-Do-List.

Ciaoz!

Air Con Installation 1

Finally an update to my earlier post last year on MongMong and my house.

We had arranged for the air-con technicians from Gain City to come and do the installation of our air-con. We bought a Mitsubishi Daiya Inverter (Sys3) at IMM early February and can only slot in a time for the air-con installation after the electrical points have been properly allocated.

The Daiya is not the same as the Mitsubishi Starmex (which Jack Neo is currently promoting) just because the Daiya belongs to Mitsubishi Heavy (the sales person told me it is actually a subsidiary company of Mitsubishi).

Anyway, a picture of how the Daiya unit looks like.
Very simple design with no fanciful edges or colors.

Okie, let's begin from the entrance.
How it looked like last year.

And how it looks like now.
Still the same, maybe more cluttered and with the electrical wires dangling down. There will be a false ceiling at where the wires are.

Next will be the view from entrance towards the living room window.
How it looked like last year.

And how it looks like now.
Same but with all the equipment of the technicians and the whole flooring covered up with cardboard to prevent much damage when the big renovation starts... oh ya, MORE DANGLING WIRES!!!

(>_<)

View from the window of living room back then.

And how it looks like now.
Yup! Same except that the red pail disappeared! Nah, stored properly in the bomb shelter cum store room you see in the pic.

Just a random snapshot of the metal bracket for the air-con unit. Those 2 in the background are MongMong and her sister, who finally has her chance to step into our house for the 1st time.

More cluttering of insulation pipes for the air-con and a ladder in the foreground just because I am lazy to remove it before shooting.

Same room from a different position to show the trunking of the air-con unit.

Gain City air-con technician busy at work in our master bedroom.
When I took the shot with flash on, he was shocked and looked back, saying he thought it was lightning.

Time is now 1405 hours and into its 4th hour of air-con installation. Shall now just wait for the technician's call for any updates.

Believe it should take about another 2 hours since they have to properly plaster up those holes they drilled through the bedrooms to connect the trunking.

To be continued...

Late Entry - Genting Part 3 Final

Woah... I can't imagine this Genting Trip actually took 3 posts to finish. Perhaps it just me... so much to tell and believing it will get too draggy if I were to combine all into 1 single post.

Anyway, we went to bed and only woke up around 1100 hours. By then, my parents had already woken up and gone for breakfast, with my dad hitting the casino to try out his luck.

Aron and I felt it was too late for a breakfast and decided to have some entertainment at the outdoor theme park. I forgot if it's called Space Shot or Vertical Shot, but it's those rides which you get strapped in and lifted high up in the air and then you get dropped all the way down. Woooo... adrenaline pumping, especially liked the feeling when it begins its initial drop, with your ass totally lifted off the seats. Just my kind of ride.

We went for other rides and by 1500 hours, we were famished. Time for a late lunch! Walked all over the place and finally settled on Bah Kut Teh. Super expensive (I feel) at RM 36 for 2-pax portion, but definitely worth it. I like its strong herbal taste compared to the normal peppery Bah Kut Tehs you find in Singapore.

After lunch, we decided to take a break and chill out at Coffee Bean with our DS Lites.

If you are wondering what happened to the repair of my dad's car, the stupid repair guy actually said he would drive up to First World Hotel lobby when it's done up. In the end, the car was only ready at 2330 hours! Totally loss for words...

Okie... back to chill out at Coffee Bean playing our DS Lites. If my memory didn't fail me, we should be playing some Tetris game and another one which is similar to Monopoly, but Super Mario Bros style. Once we had almost drained our DS'es batteries with all those wireless connectivity, we went back to the hotel room to charge them up.

Finally it's night, we tried out the indoor bumper car ride and roller coaster, feeling like a fool to have waited so long and only to have the rides finished in seconds (roller coaster) or minutes (Bumper Car). Sigh, anyway, we had too much time to waste before the live band starts at 2100 hours. We had a few bottles of beer and spent more than an hour there, even had the chance to hear one of the patrons singing 小薇 horribly... totally no sense of rhythm.

It was about midnight and we went into the First World Casino to see if my dad was playing Pontoon (also known as BlackJack) after getting back the car earlier, as I had mentioned above. Surprisingly, they seem to have removed all the Pontoon tables and shifted them all to Genting Hotel Casino. I changed some money and tried my luck at other games like 3 Pictures.

Tough luck! Within half an hour, I was losing RM 50. It may be little to you, but I was ACTUALLY trying to save money! >_<>
(It was almost 0200 hours) and the worse part is he didn't join in the gambling at all, just standing behind us while we were playing.

Our luck changed for the better in Genting Hotel Casino and I finally broke even by using the "Hit and Run" playing style. I used to be impatient and will simply bet in every round possible. I realised that I have to "pull back" sometimes and maintain a comfortable "reserve". Too rush and I may end up losing all I had won earlier.

By 0530 hours, I had won enough to cover all my expenses in this trip. Seeing that my dad's cards were not too smooth, I actually advised him to take a break and rest for the night (or should I say MORNING). Surprisingly, he listened and agreed to me! WOW! He would be very stubborn in the past and will ask me to go take a rest first if I wanted to, but this time was totally different. Maybe it was also because of the "damage" from the car repair earlier and he didn't want to have any chance to lose. We cashed in our chips and went back to hotel room, tired but definitely satisfied with our results at Genting World Casino.

The next morning, we checked out and headed back to Singapore. Cut the post short, we reach Singapore at approximately 1800 hours. Home Sweet Home!!

Oh yeah... and back to the arms of my lovely MongMong...

Late Entry - Genting Part 2

Time to continue Part 2 of my Genting Trip during the CNY holiday.

I stopped at how people were still smoking their lives away even when they were standing in front of NO SMOKING signs in the hotel lobbies, entertainment centers, everywhere! Just so irritated with them!
(>_<)

Anyway, Aron and I walked around to see if there was anything else to do, other than trying to spot eye candies. Looks like it was the school holiday period or something like that, huge crowd of young children, boys & girls with their families. Totally packed and squeezy everywhere we went.

Got so bored of walking and decided to go into the casino for free drinks while waiting for the movie to start. (Economy bad, need to save money! Heh heh heh)

Finally, time was 0330 hours and we went in, eager to find out if it was really worth the RM16 we paid for the OSIM massage chairs movie package. We started fidgeting with the controls and woah, really feels good to have a massage after a whole night of walking. Somehow, after about 10 minutes into the start of the movie, it began causing discomfort and with all the vibration and shaky massage motion, found it rather difficult to enjoy the movie.

Final decision: OFF THE DAMN OSIM MASSAGE CHAIR!

Personally, I felt Underworld: Rise of the Lycans was a well-paced movie. You know sometimes, some movie sequels are slow compared to their predecessors, but so far, all series in Underworld has been up to my expectations.

Alright! Movie finished and it was approximately 0500 - 0530 hours on Friday. WOW! Freaking hell, first time staying up so late just to catch a movie. Anyway, guess we were too tired and retired for the day.

End of Part 2

To be continued...

Late Entry - Genting Part 1

Late entry for recent Genting trip during CNY holidays.

I was on a long leave during the CNY week.
初一 and 初二 were Mon and Tues, I had to take the remaining Wed - Fri leave since my company forced us too. All because our partners mostly resume office operations on the following Mon after CNY.

Since I was on such a long leave, casually asked my parents if they were keen to go up to Genting for a short break. My dad has been working very hard whole 2008 and I want him to have a rest before starting a new 2009. He did not immediately agreed for the trip and said he would have to check if his schedule permits.

And the end conclusion: Yippeeee! He was able to make it.

We set off on 初四 morning at approx. 1030 hours after our breakfast. Oh btw, I also asked my friend of 15+ years, Aron, to join us for the trip. Anyway, back to where I was... we hit the Malaysian highway by 1110 hours and "chiong" all the way towards KL.

Cut the story short, we started ascending Genting Highlands around 1530 hours and by 1545 hours, we reached Chin Swee temple. Tough luck, traffic jam during this time! Seems like alot of cars were stopping along the sides of the winding road and I was wondering what happened. I SHOULD NOT have asked to know why... cause the unexpected happened.

There was smoke rising from my side (front passenger) of the car. I immediately wound down the windows to look out, trying to see exactly where the smoke was emitting from.

DAMN! From the front left wheel!

My dad decided to stop the car along the road as he also felt there was insufficient power to get the car going up the mountain. We opened the bonnet and there was smoke coming out from the car engine, with a terrible "burnt" plastic + metal smell.

One driver who had parked his car in front of us earlier asked us what happened, and we said we didn't know, just that the engine doesn't seem to have enough power to keep the car going. He mentioned that there could be a problem with the clutch.

We just nodded our heads and decided to let the engine cool down first before trying to ascend the mountain again, since some of the cars which we saw parked along the side earlier had started ascending after half and hour's cool down time.

Things couldn't get any worse! It started raining and we had no choice but to get back into the car and spend another 45 mins inside.

At about 1745 hours, we realized this was not the solution and we decided to call up Genting Hotel's helpdesk to get some tow truck to tow our car up to the workshop near the hotel. We called the number of a tow company provided and was disappointed to know that even the mechanic wouldn't want to risk getting his tow truck up the mountain, especially when there's a jam. Ohhhh yes... it was still freaking jam at 1800 hours!

Just when we thought all hope was lost, an Indian guy approached our car and asked if we needed help with our car. He inspected the engine compartment and found that the clutch pads had actually worn out
(the car is Manual Transmission) because of the constant friction during the jam. He said he can either pull the car to a nearby workshop (down the mountain) or provide repair services on the spot (at a higher price though). We decided to get his repairman to do the repairs on the spot because our car is afterall a Singapore car, and we would have trouble if the car was not returned to us (you can never be too sure when you are in a foreign land).

The damage: A whooping RM 1,400!

Tadaa... there you have it! Losing money even before you step foot into the casinos.

Anyway, it doesn't seem like we have a choice and we agreed to engage his services. We managed only to hail a taxi up Genting Highlands at 2030 hours. When we arrived at First World Hotel, we were famished! Immediately did our check-in and went for a quick dinner of noodles at the noodles house (just beside Hainan Restaurant).

Aron and I were excited to have finally reached Genting. Actually, not really exciting for me, since I have been here quite recently in 2008. Aron, on the other hand, had not stepped foot in Genting for more than 10 years!!

We walked around, enjoying the cool air and I suggested catching a movie, on an OSIM massage chair! I did not managed to try it the previous time I was in Genting because the movies then were not to my liking.

We booked the 0330 slot for Underworld: Rise of The Lycans. Must be crazy! Watching a movie at 0330 was something out of this world and I would never do in Singapore. (>_<")

Anyway, we went into the casino for awhile to busk in the CNY ambiance, totally SMOKEY! Cannot stand the smell, especially when the NO SMOKING signs were put up all over the hotel lobbies, halls, everywhere but THEY STILL SMOKE!

End of Part 1

Do we really have to... ?

Just something to think about...

Stepped into the MRT train and found a nice comfy seat to last a long journey from the east to Boon Lay. Suddenly an old aunty or uncle boards at the next stop, in the same cabin as you. And of all places, stands right in front of you.

Question now.
Do you...

1) Get up and offer your seat?
2) Just not bothered by their presence?
3) Just not bothered by their presence and pretend to fall asleep?

Alot of goody-2-shoes will choose the Answer 1.
Of course, because it would seem the nicest thing to do.

However, some would choose Answer 2 or even worse, Answer 3.
Pretentious beings are the worst lot and they know who they are.

For me, it depends.

If my alighting stop is like 2 - 3 stops away, I will definitely choose Answer 1.
But if I am traveling from the east to Boon Lay, I might just go ahead with Answer 2. Anyway, even if I were traveling such a far distance, it depends on:

1) How old is that aunty/uncle?
2) What is my mood that day?

Screw all those who try to be Mr/Miss Nice-People and condemn me for my answers.
Who cares about what you think?

And of course, you probably haven't met those aunties/uncles who THINK they deserve the bloody seats on the MRT train. Some of them deliberately talk loudly in front of you, trying to get your attention, and some carrying items like plastic bags of groceries or whatever will actually "accidentally" bump the bags against your legs.

Come on, whether people offer their seats to the elderly is entirely up to us.

I had seen a recent newspaper article with a snapshot of a guy holding a handphone sitting on the Priority Seat in the MRT train. The contributor wrote that there was an elder standing nearby and "flamed" the guy for not gving up his seat. Why does it bother that contributor so much?

From the angle that the snapshot was taken, it looks as if it was taken at same level as sitting down opposite the fella on the Priority Seat.

Perhaps you have perfect aiming talents and can capture clear full-view shots of this fella, or maybe you were also sitting opposite the fella and complaining about him not offering his seat to the elder standing nearby.

If my second guess was correct, why don't you just get up from your seat and offer to the elder nearby and stop whining?

I may be wrong about my guesses, but that's that.
Anyway, thinking about this at this very moment just made me want to end this post. Totally no mood.

Ciaoz!

Doomsday Is Near

2 yesterday, 3 today, how many tomorrow?
That's a very critical question.

1 by 1 I see my new found friends leaving, because of company retrenchment. It seems the company is not in good shape and has no choice but to cut the number of staff. And to think I had earlier asked my boss when logistics side will be employing a new staff to handle the work left behind by the previous logistics coordinator. Just so close to being AXED!

Who knows, tomorrow will be the official announcement, wonder if anything bad will happen to me.

I was asked earlier by my boss to attend a meeting with a colleague (who was being asked to leave today) in the afternoon. Of course, I hadn't expected this colleague of mine to be asked to leave. Suddenly my boss started saying things like, "Whichever company or boss in future will appreciate if you have some interesting ideas to bring up for product development."

I was like (-_-")!!!

Why was my boss saying such things? Especially when there were only my colleague and I in the room. I just had a bad feeling that bad fate might befall one of us! Shit man!!!

Anyway, I put that behind me and continued doing my work. At around 6plus in the evening, my colleague was asked to go into the room, which a lot of my other colleagues have been asked to earlier today.

At around 7 plus, the talk was over, damage was inflicted and my colleague walked out shocked. Shocked that he had also been asked to leave, since he heard that only 2 will be AXED today.

In the end, some of us decided to go for dinner together and I joined in. Everyone was still discussing on why they were asked to leave and why management couldn't wait till after Chinese New Year.

A lot of views were exchanged but I just kept quiet. Who was I to comment? I am in no position to voice out anything since I am not one of those asked to leave. But who knows really? Just one thing on my mind, ALWAYS BE PREPARED.

Boring Sunday

Always the same old feeling whenever it comes to this very day of the week. It shall be the start of the long treacherous work week ahead. Whatever happy things that have occurred earlier in the day would soon mean nothing much as the hour hand creeps nearer to midnight.

Arggghhhhh! (>_<)

Woke up at 8 this morning for no reason, just couldn't tell my body to keep sleeping as long as how BaoBei can on weekends. Really AMAZED at how she can just let her body fall into the "realm of darkness". I had to find something to do, otherwise I would feel extremely uncomfortable for the whole day, especially when it's Sunday.

Took the train back home and decided to surprise my family with simple breakfast of bee-hoon and fried carrot cake. In the end, everyone except my mom, was still asleep! My sis had earlier arranged for a morning swim which I had to turn down because I was not sure what time I would reach home. Turns out the rest of the family REALLY set their alarms for a late morning wake-up call.

*FAINT* (-_-")

We went for a swim around 1 in the afternoon due to a heavy rain just when I reached home. The usual practice, 30 laps to get the body warmed up and muscles working. I really need to burn off my excess fat I had gained over the past 2 weeks. Not forgetting the fact that I am going to have my ICT in 2 weeks time! Shucks man, definitely no chance at getting the $200 for Silver! Anyway, that was expected given the fact I had slacked alot after I ORDed. My main aim is just to get my weight down and at least build back a leaner body.

For once, I felt my freestyle improving in speed, maybe because I changed the way my arms cut and pull myself through the water. My freestyle was even slower than my sis's frogstyle, which was terrible! I am glad this swim session was better than previous ones.

Anyway, we were back home by 4PM and my cousin, Hao, asked me out for a walk. He has just finished his exams on Thursday and finally taking a breather after 2 weeks of hardwork revising for his exams. We agreed to meet up at my place first because my mom had cooked pasta and crabs. And just because I had watched my diet, there was too much to finish!

I went to pick up Hao from his place because he was going to pass me his Canon Pixma printer. He has an extra set which he said was collecting dust in his house and asked if I wanted it. Since it's free, why not? Moreover, it's a multi-purpose printer with additional scan and copy features, something I will want for my new home.

After the late lunch, Hao and I went to Marine Parade, our usual hang out place during Sundays, as it was nearest to our place. I had earlier suggested going for a foot massage as my feet were aching from the wearing of my bro's shoes which were 1 & 1/2 size smaller for my comfort level.

OUCH!! (x_x)

Thanks to my BaoBei, I will have new shoes to wear tomorrow! No more grumpy old feet. Thank you BaoBei! Love my new shoes very very much!

We decided to take a walk around PP (Parkway Parade) first because we wanted to take a look at the computers first. Massage can wait, or that's what I thought. In the end, we walked aimlessly through the shops in PP and by the time we know it, it was already 8.15PM and the foot reflexology center we frequent was closed. Got some drinks and just chit chat the time away, also on the same topic as to why Sunday seems to be one of the worst days of the week. Same answer: it is the day before we start the working week!

*Sobz x Infinity*

And so another chapter ends as it was time to go home and rest around 8.45PM, to get ourselves ready to fight a long battle starting tomorrow.

Friday Night Out

So tired that I had to post this only in the morning!

Was out last night with my colleagues after a hard day's work.
Dinner was a norm and we decided to go to Bugis for some entertainment at the Amusement Centre.

We had originally wanted to sing K in the office (yes... we have a Karaoke entertainment system in the office... courtesy of our boss) but the store department wanted the room for watching DVDs.

So down we headed to Bugis, just ML, A and myself
Still remember the days where I could just spend the entire day playing arcade games @ Cineleisure. My favorite game was KOF (King Of Fighters 97) which my group of friends can "book" the entire row of KOF machines.

Just imagine... 50cents after 50cents worth of tokens were exchanged at the counter just to entertainment ourselves for the day. I must have spent quite alot those days, especially when I am noob at KOF.

Pros can place 1 FREAKING token and wait for other challengers to show up. A great sense of achievement would be when he feels his 1 token has already incurred the loss of a substantial amount of money to his helpless challengers. I was lucky to have achieved that some times. Har... Har... Har

Anyway, back to Bugis. 3 of us finished our "gaming session" around 10 plus and we decided to call it a day. I couldn't find anything else to do and decided to call up my friend of almost 15 years, A, to see if he was interested in coming out for a catch up session.

A just returned from Australia after completing his studies and almost lost touch with Singapore for the past 2 years. We decided to go for some food and drinks @ ECP Lagoon Hawker Centre.

Fwah! By the time we reached there, the stalls were almost packed up and there were limited choices of food left. We were lucky; the Satay Bee Hoon store was still opened and we decided to go for it.

This SBH stall's queue would stretch super long earlier in the day and at times, you may have to wait slightly more than 1/2 hour for your turn. What's nice about their SBH is their superbly fine-grinded peanut gravy, basically resulting in an all-round coating over the bee hoon every single bite. Ingredients are also very fresh, like the pork liver, cuttlefish, sea cockles, lean pork etc. Definitely worth the queue.

And when I say we are lucky, WE ARE!
Managed to get the last 2 plates before they close for the night. Heheeeeee.. =)

After supper, we took a good stroll to Bedok Jetty where we reminisce on the old days where A had actually spent the night there, folding paper stars while watching meteorite showers. Super long time ago can?!

As usual, what's the common topic when 2 guys are out? Girls this, girls that. How girls were in the past, and the girls now... oh... should mention... Singapore girls in fact... Times have changed for sure.

Anyway, we decided to go down to Orchard to see if we can catch the Xmas lightings since A said he has yet to see how this year's theme would be. Zoom zoom I drove down, and by then it was just past 2AM when I U-turned at Tanglin to enter Orchard area.

DAMNNIT! So "heng" man... really PUI! All the lightings were off at 2AM! We were sure we catch glimpses of lights when I was driving behind the Takashimaya Centre and just a quick U-turn at 2AM in the morning, OUT GOES THE DAMN XMAS LIGHTS!

HELLO! What is this??? Trying to save electrical bills is it? Disappointing.

What to do? Balek Kampong lor...
And it was around like 3AM by the time I reached home.

Hrm... feels great to have a good old friend to spend a Friday night with...

Idiotic Youngster

This incident happened about 2 weeks ago.

I was on the evening train back home from the west and these 3 youngsters boarded at Dover Station. 1 girl and 2 guys, probably 19-21 years old. 1 girl and 1 guy were definitely a couple, with all the PDA they were showing ever since they stepped into the train cabin.

My entry focuses on the remaining guy which I find his actions really retarded and immature. Lets call this guy IDIOT. He was carrying a disposable animal carrier box (those type where you just temporary put your bunnies/hamsters/etc in just to carry them around). I was sitting on the middle seat of the cabin, and on my right was an Indian lady with her young daughter.

IDIOT took the carrier and just threw it between the legs of the Indian lady and her daughter. When the Indian lady looked back at him, puzzled as to why IDIOT did that, IDIOT actually asked her in an expressionless tone, "Yes, can I help you?"

IDIOT was trying to be funny man, felt like slapping him.

Soon after, IDIOT spotted a Bangladeshi sitting on the opposite corner of where I was sitting and approached him. IDIOT started conversing with the Bangladeshi in English, adding some vulgarities in Hokkien during the conversation. Of course the Bangladeshi has no idea what some of the vulgarities mean and thus he just kept smiling. IDIOT continued asking the Bangladeshi to reconfirm that his father/mother/etc are as per what he described them to be.

It is by now that IDIOT was seen to be very racist and deliberately picking on Indians and other nationalities. What a dick-head!

After awhile, IDIOT gave up on chit-chatting with the poor Bangladeshi and went back to his friends. Just nice, the 3 seats on my left were empty and all 3 of them proceeded to sit down. (By now, they were all sitting directly opposite the Bangladeshi)

The guy then asked IDIOT to ask the Bangladeshi to move over and sit beside them. This, of course, would mean that I had to shift 1 seat to my right to accommodate him.

Oh, I forgot to mention, the cabin was slowly getting empty because some of the other passengers knew these youngsters were playing fools, and were getting too rowdy. They just got up from their seats and moved to other cabins.

Back to where I was, the Bangladeshi declined IDIOT's invitation to move over since there are no seats available. In fact, he signaled to IDIOT to move to the seat beside him to continue the conversation.

IDIOT turned his head to my direction, as if to tell me to move away so that the Bangladeshi can sit. I just ignored him, since this f*cKer doesn't even have the balls to look at me in the eye and ask me to move. Anyway, he knew he was not going to get my seat and gave up the idea of asking the Bangladeshi over. In the end, IDIOT LL went over to sit beside the Bangladeshi and continue his spilling of vulgarities at him. SO POOR THING!

IDIOT's "verbal diarrhea" continued till Raffles Place where all 3 of them alighted. Finally there was peace.

Sighz, really sad that there are STILL such people around. It has been ages since I came across such behavior. Really hope that IDIOT gets his just desserts and learn to grow up fast!

Fruitful Sunday

Woke up around 10 plus in the morning feeling so tired, must be the lack of sleep. Overheard my sis and mom that they were going for a hair cut and decided to go for one too. My hair is definitely getting unmanageable, time for a cut since I will be going for my ICT this December.

I was thinking whether to go to the traditional Malay barber (Bugs Bunny) or spend a little more at the salon my sis and mom were going. Bugs Bunny charges $8 for a hair cut which I find it cheap. Anyway, I am not one who goes to expensive salons like some of my friends do. To me, as long as the finished cut looks good, a $8 hair cut or a $20+ hair cut is the same.

We drove to a market at Bedok Reservoir and wanted to have some Kway Chap for brunch. In the end, we had to wait for half an hour for our food. What surprises me is that there is no long queue at all, yet we have to wait so long for our turn to get the food sent to our table. It also seems to me that the boss of that stall was rather cocky, the typical if-you-cannot-wait-you-can-go-eat-other-things attitude. Anyway, I didn't care much about the waiting time as I was too engrossed in my DS.

Oh oh! I finally bought myself a DS Lite! So happy, too bad I had to buy it with my own money since my Mongmong doesn't wanna buy it for me. (-_- )

To Mongmong: If you are reading this, I just wanna remind you that you still owe me a gift! *HRMPH!*

After breakfast, we drove down to somewhere near Bedok swimming complex for the hair cut. Again have to wait! Sianz 1/2... anyway, I was surprised that the hair cut was only $6.50! Wah sei! Even cheaper than my Bugs Bunny leh! I am rather satisfied with the cut too, probably gonna come back to this salon the next time.

My sis and I finished our hair cuts around 1PM and proceeded to Bedok swimming complex where we were supposed to meet up with my younger brother for an afternoon swim. By 2PM, we were almost out of breaths, must be the lack of exercise! I really need to train up my stamina for my IPPT during the December ICT, otherwise, will lose the chance to suck the government's money. Really need to try get Silver to get my $200 incentive.

Anyway, we decided to go for another 10 laps and call it a day. By 2.30PM, we finished and prepared for shower. MAN! My legs felt heavy! Shoulders were slightly aching but it felt GOOOOOD. Haha...

Alright! Time for some food after the swim, went to the nearby Long John's. Found ourselves a seat and my siblings went to order. I was staring into blank space when I suddenly noticed something strange.

You see... I was sitting in front of a Chinese couple, probably around 19-21 years old. It seems that the guy had one of his hands CUPPING the girl's right boob. I was wondering if my eyes were playing tricks on me and decided to take a second glance. No doubt about that, his hand was still on that boob and he somehow turned to me and looked at me, as if to tell me "Hey! Check this out!"

I was like... (-_- ") and looked away of course. Such PDA should better be kept at home, wondering what was on their minds. Anyway, my food came and I tucked in. All of a sudden, the couple started "frenching", in front of all the other customers in the restaurant, oblivious to some of the stares they were getting with so much of their PDA.

I know I should just mind my own business, finish my food and get the hell outta there, but just couldn't help noticing all their actions since I am sitting RIGHT IN FRONT of them. "Quickly finish! Quickly finish!" that's all in my mind.

By 4PM, we were outta Long John's and on our way home. Contemplating taking a nap as I knew the minute I hit my pillow, will be knocked out till 9-10PM where I will then have trouble sleeping again, hence this blog entry.

Ciaoz!

Close Up Shots

Feeling a sense of 'randomness' in me so I decided to take my digicam and start snapping some pics while I am resting at home on MC.

Didn't quite find a subject though, wondering around snapping my poopies pics.
Then I saw a Bougainvillea plant near the drain and decided to snap at its flowers. Have always seen people doing closeup shots at flower petals and leaves etc... decided to give it a try.

Here goes... Snap Snap!

There was no Photoshop involved, except to crop out the size I want from the big pics.

After the Bougainvillea, I suddenly stepped on some Lallang while stepping back. And so I decided to try with Lallang...

This is the result...

When I was about finished, I turned my attention towards my poopies and started snapping away again. Again, it occurred to me there were some small leaves near a crack in the tiles of my driveway.

Snap Snap... here goes...

The area captured is really from part of a cracked tile, just taking it at closeup range. I really love my cam but sad to say, its LCD screen has freaking looooooong rows of dead pixels... if I can count them, the dead pixels should take up approximately 6px by 70px.

Darn it! Somemore no money to buy a new cam. Poor me... :(

NeoPrints 2

I have decided to post a few more NeoPrints from years back. One of my Meis said I didn't put up any with her inside, so I shall. Sorry Mei! I am too busy to crop every single NeoPrint after scanning... this post is for you.

Must be after some band practice or something.
